Pink and Pretty.
If you really want to impress your lover, planning is everything, it’s essential. Deciding what to wear, what to cook, when to cook it, breakfast, lunch or dinner? What do you want to achieve? A very special ambiance, scents of jasmine, soft candle light, the right music, even the right space. Is it breakfast in bed, lunch by the riverside, on the floor around a log fire? Well this is Wanda & Roqué’s theme and yes its ‘pink’.
Pink and Pretty. Roque had bought Wanda a beautiful bouquet of pink roses on their first year’s anniversary and ever since he had called her ‘his Pink Lady’. Also known as his ‘Princess In No Knickers…’
This couple wants to show that a little effort goes a long way in a romantic relationship. Wanda was aware that just because he loved her doesn’t mean that she can become complacent.” Roque had said that if you want to be the best for the best then you must keep practising… Every day is a gift and they both believed that those who play together stay together. Once the first throw of love and lust has passed it’s time to build solid foundations together. Romance, great sex and great eating was their passion – and they lived by it.
Part of their travel adventuring had been to stay at the magnificent ‘pink’ La Réserve de Beaulieu Hôtel & Spa at Beaulieu-Sur-Mer on the Cote d’Azur. Fine views, beautiful rooms to make love in and fantastic pink champagne. Wanda loved pink and this hotel was a wonder to see, steeped in history and with the finest French cuisine, Wanda and Roque were in heaven.
They were loving the ambiance, loving the classic French dishes and loving the big comfortable bed for long, slow, delicious love making. Wanda had surprised him with a new naughty little number, just a pretty pink thong and a flaunty pink flowing top… from shopstylepulse check it out!
Here they had eaten grilled lobster in their fingers fresh from the sea. The perfect pink flesh imparts a tale that for the lobster to mate the pair will perform a courtship dance before the female enters the “love den”. Bring it on Wanda wished. Lobsters are a very powerful aphrodisiac!
Roque had seduced her before with fresh grilled lobster and pink buttery sauce combining red wine, shallots, cream, oregano, thyme and freshly squeezed (Wanda loved being freshly squeezed!) lemon juice.
This served with just chilled Taittinger Brut Prestige Rosé champagne in frosted glasses. The lobster was presented by the light of Pink Sands scented candles – Yankee describes it as ‘It’s an exotic island escape in the beautiful mix of bright citrus, sweet florals and spicy vanilla.’
Roque served this gastronomic adventure with some crisp sautéed potatoes dusted with pink Himalayan salt and a pink radicchio, radish and blood orange salad. In the background The Truth about Love was playing. This music is by Pink an amazing and such a very sexy lady just bursting with energy and lust. Wanda had succumbed to temptation and as each pretty pink bubble burst she was longing to be nestled in his arms…
After the lobster and the perfect pink champagne they refreshed their palates ready for more kissing with gorgeous pink raspberry and Campari granita – an Italian style rustic sorbet. Go on try it the recipe is at the end.
On another occasion they had visited their much loved Greek island of Rhodes to frolic (!) on the famous pink Tsambika Beach. An unbelievable play ground for he Greek gods, goddesses and for Wanda and Roque. Here they had visited the taverna on the beach, dibbling her pink painted toe nails into the sand as the sun slowly disappeared below the shimmering waves. They ordered Pink Pussy Cocktails that most romantic and erotic combination of Grand Marnier, Bacardi Limon, Jose Cuervo, a little added sour mix and the pink seducing cranberry juice. Roque closed his eyes and thought of her pink pussy!
It was here that he had bought her a gold ring with pink tourmaline, a stone known to be an aphrodisiac attracting love in both the material and the spiritual world, inspiring trust in love – oh how deliciously romantic!
Wanda would always be his Pink and Pretty Lady and Roque would always be her hero – in the kitchen, at the fish market, cooking over an open fire, picnicking in the wild flower meadow, on a boat but especially in bed. Then of course there is their pink suitcase. Pretty in Pink, Goodnight.

Pink Buttery Lobster sauce
Get on with it…
Into a saucepan put a glass of dry red wine, 30g finely chopped shallots, ½ tsp fresh thyme, ½ tsp chopped oregano and heat until reduced by half. Add 100ml double cream and cook for 5 minutes then whisk in 150g butter a bit at a time. Finally add juice of one lemon and season. Put through a fine sieve and serve.
Pink raspberry and Campari granita
Get on with it…
In a blender combine 1kg raspberries, 100g caster sugar, 60ml water and 50ml Campari. Whizz until raspberries are completely pureed, about 30 seconds. Pour through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl pressing with a spoon to separate juice from seeds. Now add ½ tsp orange zest, a dash of lemon juice and a good pinch of salt. Pour into a suitable plastic tub and freeze for 2 hours. Remove it from the freezer and roughly mix with a fork a couple of times as it freezes until you have coarse and crunchy crystals.
Serve to each other adding just one fresh raspberry to each mouthful. Imagine the connotations!
